Story
Edward Bloom has always been a teller of tall-tales about his oversized life as a young man when his wanderlust led him on an unlikely journey from a small-town in Alabama, around the world, and back again. His mythic exploits dart from the delightful to the delirious as he weaves epic tales about giants, a witch and conjoined-twin lounge singers. With his larger-than-life stories, Bloom charms almost everyone he encounters except for his estranged son Will. When his mother Sandra  tries to reunite them, Will must learn how to separate fact from fiction as he comes to terms with his father's great feats and great failings.

High Points
The High Points?....well this entire film is a high point. Though Burton is straying away from his normal...well...not so normal string of films he still delivers. His imaginative mind is very evident throughout the film and the direction is wonderful. The script and story are well done...no cringe lines...and it all works. The acting is nothing special but very up to par. Ewan McGregor's accent scares me though O_O. Anyway the effects are nice for what they are. Elfman's score is wonderful. It is indeed a grand film for all ages.

Low Points
Well...the only real low points are...well..few. There are very few problems with this film. Well, maybe Danny Devito's ass getting screentime is a bad thing but other than that...very little to complain about. Elfman's score is a little ....bleah...but the overall feel of the film is rather different than what Elfman has done in the past. Burton's creative genius has been restrained a bit here..but it's still a good film.

I don't know what tell ya...I'm rough on films..but I give Big Fish a B+
